These are photos of a historical window restoration that was done to a building that was built in 1922. Custom wood pieces were made and designed to restore the windows back to their original construction and beauty.
Larry Young Wood Rot was contracted to preserve and repair a historical building that was setting the Hyde Park district of Kansas City in 2010.
The historical society wanted the building restored to its former beauty. We followed the guidelines and standards of restoration as set forth by the government.
When we started the project, the windows had severe damage to the frame and structure.. The previous tenant had destroyed the integrity of the windows by installing window air conditioners.
We custom built sashes and rails, replacing glass and bring the windows back to their original beauty and design.
